April Prime Award – Bicycle Burritos Project
Update:
It turns out this awesome program is global. But there’s no headquarters or leader; the original chapters have simply inspired others. I checked it out, the Charlotte chapter could serve as the model for anywhere. They get support from friends, neighbors, co-workers, Sunday school classes…whoever, all from word-of-mouth. Now YOU know about it.
Original Post:
Charlotte cyclists are building Social Capital in the form of hot breakfast. Messenger bags, backpacks and panniers full of burritos, peanut butter sandwiches and drinks are delivered on bicycles to Charlotte’s homeless every Sunday morning. A Prime award goes to organizers Tommy and John and the very-countable volunteers that make this project a success. This particular Sunday was supported by the Mission Madness program of Myers Park United Methodist Church.
Congratulations on the award!

Thanks Keith, I can’t post the details here out of respect for the anonymity of the ‘management’. I’ll email you the details.
