Tyisha, 5, was hit while riding her bicycle by a CMS bus in her neighborhood. She was airlifted to CMC in critical condition. No charges were filed against the bus driver.

This is a sad and tragic event for many reasons. Tyisha, get well soon.

Update:

Tyisha remains at the Levine Children’s Hospital.

The Witherspoon’s plan to file a civil lawsuit against the driver and CMS.

Monday June 9th was the driver’s first day back on the job. Tyisa’s mother Lucille Witherspoon told the observer, “God forgives everybody so we have to forgive her too,”
